Lawyer buys Former Miss Malaysia World for $200
Former Miss Malaysia World Nadia Heng has been bought by a lawyer for 600 Malaysian ringgits in Bangsar in an “auction” for a good cause.
Heng was among the five local personalities - “sold” to the highest bidder to raise funds for the upgrading of UndiMsia!’s resource centre.
The “buyers” went out on a date with the personalities, Star Online reported.
UndiMsia! is an initiative targeted at youngsters to build communities and to empower citizens.
Heng said that she was game for anything, from a candlelight dinner to a meal at a mamak’s stall.
“I don’t mind being sold’ off like that as it is for a good cause,” she said.
The winning bid of 600 Malaysian ringgits for Heng was put by 37-year-old lawyer Dipendra Rai, 37, who planned to surprise her.
38-year-old IT manager Adam Loo paid an incredible 1,200 Malaysian ringgits to win a “date” with lawyer Edmund Bon.
Loo, Bon’s close friend, said that their “date” would be their usual hangout at a mamak’s stall and he would buy them Bon roti canai and teh tarik.
“I am flattered to have got the highest bid but more importantly, I am thankful so many people have contributed for a good cause,” Bon said.
Other personalities auctioned off were ‘FHM Girl Next Door 2010′ contest winner Yvonne Sim, documentary producer Seira Sacha, and actor Tony Eusoff, who were “sold” for 820, 800 and 320 Malaysian ringgits respectively.
